Academies

There are five academies at Pioneer High School. These academies each have individual directors and faculty members, which often include working professionals and artists in each discipline.

The four arts academies at Pioneer High School for the first year are Dance, Drama, Music and Musical Theater.The final academy is Accelerated Learning For more information about each of the academies, please see below.

Dance

The Academy of Dance provides a comprehensive education that recognizes the need for specialized training in the various genres of dance, while at the same time acknowledging the need for the training skills and conditioning that form a strong foundation needed to pursue any dance form. Studying with world-renowned instructor, Derryl Yeager of Odyssey Dance Theater, our dance academy's mission is to train our students to be quality entertainers and provide artistic excellence in theatrical dance.

Music

Pioneer High School Department of Music provides a comprehensive education to the aspiring young musician by setting high artistic standards while broadening musical horizons. Students gain the educational, social, and emotional foundation necessary to embark on successful, professional careers as artists.

Drama

Studying with amazing professionals, students in Pioneer’s Drama Academy perform everything from Shakespeare's classics to new productions. Students will learn and develop skills in a working professional environment. All students can expect to be involved in Pioneer High School Performing Arts Center performances, which will help educate, inspire, and broaden their interests.

Musical Theater

This academy integrates artistic training in acting, musicianship, and dance, providing students with a comprehensive education designed to support a professional stage career. The academy offers ample performance opportunities from the first semester through graduation.
